DDS Values December as a Universal Human Rights Month 2021
Ebitari loves this passage from Micah 6:8 and tries to live by it. This Human Right Month, we are reminded that 'God has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?'.
December is Universal Human Rights Month, a time for people in the U.S. and around the world to join together and stand up for the rights and dignity of all individuals. December 10, Human Rights Day, is a global holiday that marks the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations in 1948.* This month DDS remembers and pays tribute to those who gave their lives, their freedom still struggling for their basic human rights,
The world is our global village which is constantly facing a threat of human rights violation. Let it be Facebook or Twitter feed or the newspaper or news channels we are reminded each day how vulnerable humans are in some parts of the world or better called everywhere. Human - the term - abolishes all classification of race, ethnicity, age, gender, social class, nationality or sexual orientation. We stand as one strong force. But what is a human without humanity? Human rights are the basic rights that we are born with but are deprived of later because of cultural impositions, familial rules and state dictatorship.
DDS shares plenty of ways to raise our voices for the recognition and awareness of Human Rights:
